Open Grid Europe (OGE) is one of the leading gas transporters in Europe with a pipeline network of around 12,000 kilometres.
Together with AED-SICAD as the general contractor, OGE has started “ADIS (Asset Data Integration System)”, a new IT project to efficiently support operations.
The aim of the project is to merge data from SAP, GIS, and the plant’s information- and document management systems in the SAP HANA integration platform in a uniform front-end.
For this purpose, AED-SICAD, a VertiGIS company, together with its Belgian partner SIGGIS and the SAP system specialists ConVista Consulting, has formed a team of experts with extensive know-how in SAP and GIS. ADIS is to become the database for OGE’s technical asset management for comprehensive digitization of processes, which will future-proof the platform for further innovations.
Software components from the VertiGIS product portfolio will be used for central and mobile use, including:
- Geocortex Essentials, a powerful framework for connecting targeted applications with GIS components;
- Geocortex Workflow to support integration into business processes; and
- The SAP-certified UT Integrator of AED-SICAD to ensure data consistency.
Esri’s new Utility Network Management, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise components form the basis for this demanding project. The project partners rely on a Scrum methodology for flexibility in implementation and early availability of components.
In its final phase, more than 1,400 employees will be able to use the new ADIS application, 400 of which will be using mobile versions. The roll-out of the first phase is planned for September 2020.
