The launch of Digital Construction Works

This year, as in 2017, the The Year in Infrastructure (YII) Conference of Bentley Systems will again take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore.

A notable difference with the previous time, and also with the 2018 conference in London, is that the first day is all about Digital Advancement.

Key factors of digitalization are discussed during various sessions, which should make it possible for companies to formulate a better information management strategy.
As the visitors are all attending the Digital Advancement sessions, no keynotes or general presentations will be given this Monday.

However, there is enough news to report, because various press releases were presented and exemplified by the various Bentley speakers during the press conference.

In total, almost a dozen news items were dealt with, with topics ranging from the acquisition of Citilabs and Orbit Geospatial Technologies to the launch of the new iTwin Cloud Services for infrastructure engineering digital twins.

However, the big news of the day was that Bentley Systems and Topcon Positioning Systems are launching a completely new company: Digital Construction Works.

This new company is led by CEO Ted Lamboo (formerly Bentley Systems) and COO Jason Hallet (formerly Topson) and focuses on providing people, processes and technology that can help construction enterprises to optimize their digital infrastructure. Digital Construction Works provides support for setting up digital twins, performing analysis and implementing systems for the optimized planning of construction projects. The new joint venture immediately announced its Partner Community and an partnership with project management specialist O3 Solutions.
