Teledyne CARIS announced its 16th International User Group Conference, “CARIS 2017”. It will be held in Ottawa, Canada at the Sheraton Ottawa Hotel from June 19 to June 22, 2017.
This four day conference is the largest gathering of CARIS software users worldwide. Participants will have access to on-site training opportunities for HIPS and SIPS, and specialized user group meetings focused on innovations found within Hydrographic Production Database (HPD) and Bathy DataBASE (BDB).
The timing of the conference coincides with Canada’s 150th year anniversary and the city will be alive with multicultural events, showcases, and people. This location provides an exciting and engaging opportunity for CARIS software users to experience both the conference, as well as the wide spectrum of Canadian diversity.
As a collective event, CARIS 2017 embraces, educates, and explores hot topic themes in the hydrographic and wider geomatics industry; including management of our ports and waterways, the increasing importance of autonomous surveys, the latest data sources such as space-based observations, the use of LiDAR and laser scanners, extracting more from multibeam, S-100 tools and techniques, and using hydrographic data for a wide range of purposes to support sustainable oceans.
Aligning the conference, location and theme of “Celebrating 150 Years of Hydrography and Geomatics in the Nation’s Capital”, creates an atmosphere of community for CARIS software users. It fosters partnerships and unity within the industry, and provides the opportunity to share new ideas and technological advancements in a world class setting, with world class leaders and expertise.
