Spatial Corp, provider of 3D software development toolkits (SDKs) for design, manufacturing, and engineering solutions, and a subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes, announced the availability of Release 2018.1.0 of its 3D Modeling SDKs. This release delivers significant advancements for analysis workflows, as well as new breakthrough capabilities for additive manufacturing and other 3D solutions benefiting from hybrid modeling capabilities.
Enhancements delivered in Spatial’s 3D modeling solutions directly improve the end-user experience, enabling application developers to create new workflows, add new capabilities and create new products faster than ever before. “When planning our product releases, we work closely with our customers to identify industry trends and deliver technological solutions they need to stay above their competition and achieve faster time to market,” said Linda Lokay, General Manager, Spatial Corp. “Spatial takes our strategic customer partnerships seriously. We focus on delivering market-leading technology that is industrialized, high-performing and feature-rich, ensuring customer success.”
The key drivers for this CGM Core Modeler release include:
• Assisting 3D application developers to streamline additive manufacturing workflows
• Improving support of simulation and analysis solutions
Hybrid modeling capabilities, through seamless integration with CGM Polyhedra, supports a unified set of modeling operations for precise and faceted models with tools necessary for accurate model repair. CGM provides advanced defeaturing capabilities to support automated model simplification allowing for dramatic improvement in simulation and analysis efficiency. 3D application innovation can be further extended with 3D Precise Mesh delivering advanced, robust surface and volume meshing capabilities.
For 3D ACIS Modeler, this release focused on robustness and reliability for users when they consume the data created throughout the engineering process. Operators at the core of modeling, such as Remove Faces and Boolean, benefit from significant improvements. The expanded success of these operators is critical to achieve powerful and predictable end-user experiences.
Building on the market-leading hybrid modeling capabilities of CGM Polyhedra, this new release extends hybrid modeling capabilities, enabling independent software vendors (ISVs) to deliver even more innovative workflows for end-user efficiency. The decimation operator, a powerful capability to reduce complexity, granularity, and file size, has been enhanced with new options for user-friendly configuration and operation. This release also enhances the integration with 3D ACIS Modeler, enabling more operations on hybrid bodies, such as Hybrid Stitch (which allows users to directly combine precise and polygonal faces into one body) and Hybrid Move (which allows users to manipulate precise faces in a hybrid body).
HOOPS Visualize users will see a number of performance improvements, enabling them to instantly conceptualize their 3D data with even faster rendering of static and dynamic datasets. The release also delivers expanded point cloud format support, extending the ability to present data from 3D scanning processes into metrology, reverse engineering and design optimization workflows. Updated and improved HOOPS Visualize integration with CGM Core Modeler and 3D ACIS Modeler is also included in this release.
