Imagem and Antea Group won the Geospatial World Excellence Award for developing the Smart City Road Monitor app based on Hexagon Smart M.App platform. The award was presented at Geospatial World Forum – a global conference. This year’s event was hosted at the World Trade Centre in Rotterdam, from 23 to 26 May.
With growing populations and the dynamically changing world, municipalities today recognize that their IT systems are unable to adapt to changes as quickly. Adding to the woes, the global push for Smart Cities has given rise to a new focus on data collection leading to geospatial big data challenges. It is crucial for municipalities to integrate this ever-changing Geospatial Big Data into more dynamic approach to Asset Management.
In the Netherlands alone there are 17 million people living in 390 municipalities. Each municipality is responsible for almost 1 billion euros worth of Public Assets and in total they spend an average of 10 billion euros on maintain these assets. Together with Antea Group, Imagem has been working on solutions for municipalities that enable dynamic monitoring of public assets worth 300 billion euros.
Imagem and their business partner Antea Group combine creativity of the engineer with state-of-art ICT so that they can help solve Smart City challenges with Smart M.Apps technology from Hexagon Geospatial. The Dynamic Smart City Road Monitor app empowers all workgroups within municipalities – from Field Inspectors to Mayors – to quickly transform complex geospatial data into actionable information needed for decision making.
In form of interactive dashboards, the app combines data, analytics, and maps enabling municipalities to visualise dynamic and real-time information that is easy to understand. With this simplistic layout, the municipalities can now monitor and manage the road networks, while incorporated statistics provide an insight into legacy data, as—is situation and in budgeting and planning for the future.
Imagem and Antea Group continue to develop solutions for underground infrastructure, water infrastructure, real estate (commercial and residential), environmental and other industries in the Netherlands.
