PCI Geomatics Named Corporate Partner of the Year by the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University

Recently, PCI Geomatics established a long term relationship that will include joint research and development, workshops, symposia, and other activities that will promote the increased understanding of geospatial image analysis within the University’s researchers and students and PCI Geomatics staff.

The agreement includes support for joint research and development projects undertaken by researchers from Lassonde and engineers from PCI Geomatics. In addition, a series of online workshops will bring together members of PCI’s Education Alliance in South Africa, China, Taiwan and Canada culminating in a global symposium to be hosted at Lassonde. The relationship will also provide software licenses to students across York University to develop practical and innovative geospatial image analysis applications and tools.

An annual Lectureship will be held in memory of Dr. Robert Moses, an exceptional leader and visionary who left behind a legacy of excellence. The topics will reflect the spirit of Dr. Moses’s ‘big thinking’ who believed geospatial technology could play a vital role in making the world a better place for our descendants.

“PCI is a highly-impressive Canadian firm with a global reach in the rapidly growing fields of remote sensing and geospatial image processing technology,” said Janusz Kozinski, Founding Dean of the Lassonde School of Engineering. “We are proud to be collaborating with PCI to bring the very latest geomatics software to our students, to build connections with members of PCI’s Strategic Education Alliance across the globe, and to ensure the entrepreneurial vision of Bob Moses lives on in future generations of engineers,” he added.

“We are honoured and thankful to have been selected as the corporate partner of the year by the Lassonde School of Engineering”, said Terry Moloney, President and CEO of PCI Geomatics. “Through our joint initiatives, we look forward to a relationship that brings together some of the top minds in geospatial image analysis in Canada to spur on innovative development of geospatial technology and applications”.
