The international information platform for the geo community, INTERGEO TV is showcasing various productions on the newly launched news portal www.intergeo-tv.com in July.
In the latest edition of the News, Hagen Graeff from the DVW (German Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management) provides an overview of the diverse range of key conference topics for the next INTERGEO in Hamburg. The subject of smart cities is a particularly key area. “The ‘digital city’ initiative, which has been launched in Hamburg as a multifaceted agenda, provides extremely interesting specialist content for the conference,” says Graeff in his preview. This ranges from the ‘smart port’ to concepts for involving the public such as ‘Smarticipate.’ The conference programme will be presented in detail as part of the Opinion Leader Talk, which will be broadcast on INTERGEO TV from 14 July.
The second highlight of the latest News is an in-depth review of the GEOSummit 2016 in Bern. This national flagship event in Switzerland focuses on innovation and future talent in the industry and is continuing to grow. As at other industry events, drones also took the geo community by storm in Bern.
From 21 July, DVW Vice President Jens Riecken will be offering an insight into career paths in the geo industry in the ‘Career’ section. Geo expertise is in demand by public administration bodies and the private sector. Recurring issues covered in this section include how to bring talented young people into the industry and train them in a globally networked world.
Emma Thomas from British-based Lidar technology supplier Routescene will be presenting the new developments and applications in 3D mapping using UAVs – or drones – in the Solutions & Services section from 28 July.
INTERGEO TV has regular reports in English on current aspects of the international geo industry on the video platform.
