Harris Corporation becomes a Principal Member of the Open Geospatial Consortium

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) announced that long-time member Harris Corporation has raised its membership from Technical to Principal level.

As a Principal Member, Harris Corporation will participate in OGC’s Planning Committee to provide leadership to the Open Geospatial Consortium through the exploration of market and technology trends relevant to OGC’s mission to assure that OGC’s activities remain effective and agile in a changing technology environment. Further, in this Planning Committee role, Harris Corporation will participate in final approval decisions for all OGC standards and elections to the Board of Directors.

“The Harris Corporation has been a member of the OGC continuously since 1996 – active in the development of open standards and related interoperability best practices in support of its customers and partners worldwide,” said Mark Reichardt, President and CEO of the OGC. “We are excited that they have expanded their leadership role as a Principal member to advance the market and policy direction of the consortium.”
