Blue Marble Geographics announced version 18.2 of the Global Mapper Software Development Kit (SDK) along with the Global Mapper LiDAR Module SDK.
Released in conjunction with the desktop version of the application, this toolkit shares many of the software’s functional enhancements and performance improvements. Some of the highlights of the 18.2 release include support for Amazon’s cloud-based Simple Storage Service; 3D fly-through improvements; hydro-flattening for LiDAR data; and improved lighting display for vector features and models in the 3D Viewer.
The recent release of version 18.2 of Global Mapper included dozens of new and improved features and functions, and most of these upgrades are now available to software developers using the SDK. Significant improvements include support for read and write access to cloud-based data using Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), part of Amazon Web Services. This efficient and powerful cloud data storage service offers businesses and organizations reliable access to critical data on demand from within Global Mapper or any SDK-based application.
