The International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) voted in Christchurch, New Zealand, for the location of the FIG Working Week 2020. After a presentation of the Dutch delegation (GIN, Society for Geo-information; Kadaster, ITC, Twente University and GIM International) Amsterdam was chosen over Interlaken (Switzerland).
FIG Working Week is an exciting week-long conference that brings the international community of surveying and spatial professionals together to share innovative science with policymakers and stakeholders. Scientists, policy- and decision-makers, students, and stakeholders are invited to join the discussions on issues affecting the international surveying and spatial community today and in the future.
The proposed theme of the Working Week in 2020 is ‘Smart Surveyors for Land and Water Management’. About 1,500 participants are expected from around the world at the RAI in Amsterdam to discuss the state of play on the theme. The necessary skills for the future are examined, so that knowledge and expertise are up to date.
