ALLPLAN, SCIA and FRILO merge to empower Design to Build Workflow

ALLPLAN, provider of BIM solutions for the AEC industry, SCIA based in Belgium, and FRILO, located in Germany, are joining forces to strengthen their delivery capabilities, drive innovation and offer powerful end-to-end design to build workflows, with a strong emphasis on structural engineering.

A new and combined go to market approach will accelerate the path to data-driven multi-material design and prefabrication, providing significant productivity benefits for customers. All three companies are part of the Nemetschek Group.
With this merger, ALLPLAN not only significantly extends its solution offering within the engineering sector, to include structural analysis and design, but also strengthens its market position in Europe.

The merger provides a unique solution for architects and engineers from one company: ALLPLAN offers a single BIM platform for the AEC industry from first concept through detailed design and multidisciplinary planning to comprehensive prefabrication and construction deliverables. SCIA and FRILO deliver extensive software for structural analysis and design, including both the analysis and design of 3D multi-material structures as well as a component orientated calculation approach.

“Combining modeling and structural engineering competence will create a unique solution technology stack in the market from conceptual design through structural analysis and design to structural detailing and prefabrication that supports the growing demand for lean delivery processes. This will foster digitalization in the AEC industry significantly empowering engineering professionals with the end-to-end workflows they need to deliver their projects more productively, with higher quality and greater sustainability,” says Dr. Detlef Schneider, CEO of ALLPLAN.

OPEN BIM and cloud-based workflows
At the very heart of all Nemetschek companies is a customer focused, OPEN BIM based, approach for seamless and free collaboration of different disciplines across all project phases, regardless of the software used. With several established methods to smoothly collaborate, architects and engineers already benefit from direct interfaces, cloud-based structural to analytical model conversion, and OPEN BIM based workflows.

Therefore, ALLPLAN, SCIA and FRILO products are uniquely placed to immediately offer users maximum OPEN BIM flexibility and efficiency between engineering and detailing disciplines.

“This is a significant milestone for ALLPLAN, SCIA and FRILO, unifying companies that have long history. They have worked together closely and will now combine to extend and further innovate the entire design to build workflow. With the joint approach the combined mission is to help customers as trusted partners to fulfil their projects with a significant productivity gain through ongoing innovation,” comments Markus Gallenberger, Chief Marketing and Sales Enablement Officer.
