Merrick Retained on a 3-Year Contract with Henrico County
Merrick & Company’s geospatial and surveying business unit was recently awarded a contract with Henrico County, VA, to collect and process digital orthophototography, planimetric mapping, and topographic products and services. The work is being done during a three year cycle and will include capturing aerial digital oblique imagery of a 244 square mile area. Having worked with Henrico County and the county’s GIS tiling infrastructure; Merrick’s knowledge of the County’s control network, coordinate system, and tile structure will ensure meeting the current and future needs of the County.

New Leica Cyclone v7.3 software provides benefits in two important areas for High-Definition Surveying projects. First, it lets users take full advantage in the office of enhanced laser scanner control and field QA features simultaneously announced as firmware v2.6 for ScanStation C10 and C5 scanners. Second, it helps users process large laser scan data sets into deliverables more efficiently in the office – including 64-bit support.
Brazilian Utility Sabesp Deploys Bentley’s WaterCAD
Bentley Systems,the company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure, announced that the Brazilian utility Companhia de Saneamento Básico do Estado de São Paulo (Sabesp – East Business Unit) has decreased water losses in its 272-kilometer-long Passagem Funda distribution system (Cidade Tiradentes & Santa Etelvina Sectors) by 57 percent through its use of Bentley’s WaterCAD product for water distribution modeling and management.
