Merrick Completes High Fidelity Mapping for the University of California Riverside
Merrick & Company’s geospatial and surveying business unit was retained for a third time since 2006, by the University of California Riverside (UCR), to collect and process high density light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data and high resolution digital aerial imagery as well as topographic mapping and building wire frame updates for a 5.43 square mile area encompassing the UCR campus.
Merrick & Company Awarded New Contracts
Merrick GeoSpatial Solutions has been awarded additional work under its engineering service on-call contract with the City & County of Denver (Denver, CO) to provide range point recovery and rehabilitation services throughout Denver, and has been retained to provide remote sensing and analysis services for an exploration client in South America.
Merrick Retained on a 3-Year Contract with Henrico County
Merrick & Company’s geospatial and surveying business unit was recently awarded a contract with Henrico County, VA, to collect and process digital orthophototography, planimetric mapping, and topographic products and services. The work is being done during a three year cycle and will include capturing aerial digital oblique imagery of a 244 square mile area. Having worked with Henrico County and the county’s GIS tiling infrastructure; Merrick’s knowledge of the County’s control network, coordinate system, and tile structure will ensure meeting the current and future needs of the County.
Merrick Completing As-Built Transmission Line Mapping
Merrick & Company’s geospatial mapping and technologies unit is completing a high density, aerial light detection and ranging (LiDAR) as-built survey of a 132-mile double circuit 345kV line in the western U.S. The work is being done under a contract to Stanley Consultants, Inc.
Version 7.0 MARS to Include Automated LiDAR QC Module
Merrick & Company, a provider of light detection and ranging (LiDAR), digital orthophotography, and hyperspectral mapping, announces the release of its new, automated LiDAR data quality control (QC) module. Integrated within Version 7.0 of the Merrick Advanced Remote Sensing (MARS) software suite, the new module will provide users with a fully automated QC process for the verification of compliance to the v13 LiDAR Specification from the US Geological Survey (USGS).
