MTS Navigator launched in Russia

Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, the telecommunications operator in Russia and the CIS, has recently announced the launch of MTS Navigator, a highly advanced personal search, mapping and navigation solution powered by Telmap. The MTS Navigator service is supported by many GPS-enabled devices, and will soon be available on the full range of such devices. The service is now also available to MTS subscribers on the MTS 840 device, and will be free to all MTS customers for the first year.

Lockheed Martin Delivers GPS III Pathfinder Satellite to Denver on Schedule

The Lockheed Martin team developing the U.S. Air Force’s next generation Global Positioning System has delivered the program’s pathfinder spacecraft to the company’s Denver-area facility. The pathfinder, known as the GPS III Non-Flight Satellite Testbed (GNST), will now undergo final assembly, integration and test activities in a new facility designed to maximize efficiencies and reduce costs of satellite production.

Online-Bike-Routing based on ArcGIS Server

The German software-development company alta4 Geoinformatik AG developed a bike routing tool for the german tourism agency of Schleswig-Holstein. With more than 15.000km of bike routes, tourists are now able to plan individual track in a Google-like userinterface. Trips can be planned between 2.500 different Points of Interst, including hotels, activities, events, beaches, theme routes or any point visible on the map.

Partnership agreement for Leica SmartNet Greece, incorporating MetricaNet

On 31th January, a Leica SmartNet Greece partnership agreement between Leica Geosystems and its distribution partner Metrica, has been signed in Athens. Locally the network will maintain the name MetricaNet, as part of Leica SmartNet Europe, due to the long standing marketing of MetricaNet in Greece.
