Tele Atlas to leverage Data from Swedish National Road Administration
Competition in the growing market for GPS navigators is fierce and high quality maps can help manufacturers deliver their users a powerful navigation experience. The Swedish National Road Administration has signed an agreement whereby it will supply data on the Swedish road network to Tele Atlas, a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location based solutions.
Tele Atlas delivers the digital maps and dynamic content that power many of the world's most essential navigation and location-based services (LBS). Through a combination of its own products and partnerships, Tele Atlas offers map coverage of more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
The agreement between Tele Atlas and the Swedish National Road Administration confirms the high quality of the Administration's basic road network data. Tele Atlas will leverage this information as part of its comprehensive global resource network, including input from millions of GPS system users worldwide, to help build and update its digital map database. Tele Atlas gathers and validates changes and updates its maps every day. Typically, Tele Atlas partners will integrate these updates within their maps four times a year.
