Leica Geosystems Inc. announced that ORTHOSHOP Geomatics Ltd. has purchased the Leica ALS70 LiDAR and Leica RCD30 imaging camera as its first digital airborne sensors. Bluesky Launches Online LiDAR Map of Britain
Aerial survey company Bluesky has launched a comprehensive online LiDAR map of the UK. Covering approximately 75 per cent of England and Wales, including all major towns and floodplains, plus areas of Scotland. The LiDAR coverage ranges in vertical accuracy from 5cm to 15cm, and in spatial resolution from 25cm to 2m. Visitors to www.bluesky-world.com can search the online map using a place name, postcode or geographical coordinate before purchasing their chosen area and downloading digital files.
Trimble introduced cloud-based data management for its SiteFID Gas Monitoring solution used in the environmental services market—the Trimble Connected Community - Environmental. The Connected Community - Environmental provides real-time management and deployment of SiteFID landfill gas surface monitoring data. It allows field monitoring data to be uploaded to the cloud and stored in a secure and replicated infrastructure designed specifically for positioning data. Environmental monitoring data can then be accessed in real time by other team members at locations with an Internet connection. The environmental data files are version controlled and updates to field data can be verified and tracked.
PCI Geomatics, a developer of geo-imaging software and systems, announced the release of a 32-bit version of its Geomatica 2012 software - the latest version of the company’s complete and integrated desktop image processing software featuring tools for remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, geospatial analysis, map production, mosaicking and more.
Esri Collaborates with Panama
The government of Panama signed a memorandum of understanding with Esri to leverage geospatial technology in support of national development. The agreement affirms Panama's recognition of the value of geographic information systems (GIS) in improving decision making and infrastructure management throughout the country. Esri president Jack Dangermond and Eduardo E. Jaén, general administrator of Panama's National Authority for Government Innovation, signed the agreement.
