Next month, the California GIS community will meet in Sacramento for the 15th Annual CalGIS Conference.

GeoEye, a provider of satellite and aerial-based geospatial information, announced it has started delivering high-resolution, color satellite imagery from its newest satellite to Google. The GeoEye-1 satellite images that are being highlighted by Google were all taken within the last 60 days and include images of the Pyramids of Giza, Mount Fuji, Sydney Australia, and many other recognizable locations. Alliant Energy Corporation has signed a three-year enterprise license agreement (ELA) with ESRI that will provide unlimited deployments of current ESRI geographic information system (GIS) software. GeoEye, a premier provider of satellite and aerial-based geospatial information, announced it has signed agreements with several international resellers to provide high-resolution, satellite imagery and value-added products from its new GeoEye-1 Earth-imaging satellite to customers in China, Middle East, Turkey and Russia.

ESRI and Trimble announced that American Water, the largest investor-owned water utility in the United States, has selected the GeoCollector and Trimble GPS Pathfinder ProXH receiver solutions for field data collection. The GeoCollector and ProXH solutions combine geographic information system (GIS) software and Global Positioning System (GPS) hardware that make it easy to collect subfoot position and descriptive information about assets in the field and efficiently transfer the information to a utility's central database.
