Leica Geosystems releases version 4.0 of the easy-to-use Leica SmartWorx Viva onboard software. This new version is packed with exciting new features to make data collection and stakeout even simpler and even more productive. Furthermore, SmartWorx Viva v4.0 supports the following available new products and services: the high-accurate Leica Viva GS25 GNSS surveying receiver, the Leica CGR10 & 15 radio modems, and the Leica Exchange data transfer service.

Surveying And Mapping, a nationally recognized provider of geospatial data solutions, has recently established a new wholly owned subsidiary to further extend their capabilities into construction phase services. The subsidiary is named "SAM-Construction Services, Inc." and will also do business under the name "SAM-CS, Inc."

ITT Exelis and Chronos Technology Ltd. have agreed to jointly pursue and develop product offerings for the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Interference, Detection and Mitigation (IDM) market. Satellite-based positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) systems are vulnerable to many factors, such as signals jamming, resulting in potentially devastating system failures. The collaboration between ITT Exelis and Chronos Technology will allow both companies to respond to the IDM market by offering a set of complementary products and solutions.

RapidEye, a provider of wide area, repetitive coverage of earth through its constellation of satellites announced that a second full coverage of Lithuania has been delivered and accepted by the Institute of Aerial Geodesy (AGI) in Kaunas, Lithuania.
