Microsoft's Vexcel Imaging GmbH Announces Release of UltraMap Version 1.0

From the 2009 annual conference for the American Society for Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing (ASPRS) in Baltimore, Vexcel Imaging, GmbH-Microsoft's Photogrammetry division-announced the version 1.0 release of its UltraMap Workflow Software. UltraMap 1.0 provides a flexible and scalable distributed system for managing and processing vast amounts of data from the company's UltraCam series of digital aerial mapping sensors, including the UltraCamD, UltraCamX, UltraCamXp and UltraCamL/Lp.

UltraMap manages data download, distributed level 0-2/2-3 data processing, and interactive data visualization for quality control. Taking advantage of new Microsoft technologies-including the .Net 3.0 framework, its Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) graphical subsystem, and Microsoft Seadragon technology-UltraMap allows project imagery to be quickly loaded and smoothly browsed, regardless of the amount of data involved or the bandwidth of the network, and features HD Photo for lossless data compression.

Vexcel Imaging is also releasing the UltaMap AT module that augments the base UltraMap offering by providing an interactive aerial triangulation workflow and features automated tie-point collection, integrated photogrammetric bundle adjustment, and guided point measurement.

The newly release software will be included with new sales of UltraCamXp and UltraCamL/Lp systems and provided to existing UltraCamXp customers, as well as UltraCamD and UltraCamX customer with a current maintenance contract.
