Since its market introduction more than six years ago, the Leica Builder has been the perfect tool used by many construction professionals. The Leica Builder is an easy-to-use, self-explanatory and powerful instrument with a clearly structured model range meeting all requirements on a construction site - from simple tasks to daily use with special requirements. In addition, the instrument can be controlled by software programs, such as the Timber Construction Software by SEMA.
At the BATIMAT 2011 trade fair, the most important software features for a successful as-built survey were demonstrated using a wooden model house. Visitors were fascinated by the perfect integration of the Leica Builder in the SEMA software. Like working with a computer mouse, a point can be targeted with the laser and the non-contacted measurement is instantly recorded and displayed on the software screen. The same applies to the surveying of stairs, staircases and other features. The user measures the steps with the laser and all of the drawing is done using the SEMA software.
This way the software allows you to create a high accurate as-built documentation with very little effort that can be further processed directly in the SEMA program. After the planning and preparation work, the data can be transferred to CNC machines to fabricate the designed timber products with millimeter accuracy. The interest in the software during the show was overwhelming and several SEMA software suits and Leica Builders were sold directly after the demonstration. Due to the great success, more presentations with SEMA and TOPOCENTER are planned throughout France in the near future.
The SEMA software is used worldwide in 33 countries by around 7,000 customers and is available in 10 languages.
