Jeff Lovin elected as MAPPS President-Elect
MAPPS President Marvin Miller CP, PLS, PPS (Aero-Metric Inc., Maple Grove, MN) announced the election of Jeff Lovin CP, Vice President in charge of the Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Division of Woolpert, Inc., Dayton, OH, as the President-Elect of MAPPS on March 17, 2009 at the MAPPS Federal Programs Conference. Mr. Lovin was elected by the MAPPS Board of Directors.
Lovin will hold the office of President-Elect until the MAPPS Annual Business meeting to be held at the summer conference June 25-29 in Brewster (Cape Cod), MA. At that time, Lovin will assume the role of President of the association. He replaces Silas Suazo (Bohannan Huston Inc, Albuquerque, NM), who resigned the position of President-Elect for personal reasons.
Lovin has been on the MAPPS Board of Directors since 2007 and serves on the Legislative Affairs Committee, Chairman of the Aviation Task Force and is the MAPPS co-chair of the 2009 MAPPS-ASPRS Joint Specialty Conference to be held in San Antonio, TX November 16-19, 2009.
Lovin has spent his entire 23-year career in the geospatial profession at Woolpert where he has developed a varied technical background in flight operations, surveying, and photogrammetry. He served as a project manager for many local, state, and federal clients before assuming his current role within the firm in 2001.
