Graticule Release Point2StreetAddress Application using PostcodeAddress File

Graticule, the Leeds-based software engineering company specialising in mapping, geographical information systems and database systems for monitoring and managing assets, announces ints new Point2StreetAddress application.

Using innovative software engineering technologies, this new application monitors and tracks assets which are fitted with a Satellite Global Positioning (GPS) receiver and a storage or telecommunications device for fixing locations using Royal Mail Postcode Address File data. Point2StreetAddress software reads a Longitude and Latitude from a GPS receiver and returns the full postal address of the street nearest to where an asset is located and, by using the time of each GPS fix, can track the movement of an asset 24/7. Point2StreetAddress software stores a record with an identification number, time, location and the postal address of the nearest street. It lets you compress and store records by a unique asset number to provide a log of where an asset has been at any given time.

For example, imagine the GPS receiver captures location and time every minute. If an asset has been stolen, you can reprise the log file for selected dates and times to track where it has been moved by reading the addresses and times of where it has been such as street names, suburbs, towns, counties, countries and postcodes. This information can be given to the police to facilitate their investigation.

Point2StreetAddress software has been optimised and can process 60,000 - 120,000 requests per minute depending on the computer platform being used. Point2StreetAddress is a software library which can be integrated into existing systems or customised as a stand-alone application. It is designed for monitoring and tracking valuable assets such as farm animals, equipment, vehicles and other assets on a continual basis.
