GeoPlace’s innovation recognised at AGI Awards

GeoPlace was highly commended by the Association for Geographic Information (AGI) at its annual awards ceremony in London on 24 November 2011.

GeoPlace is a public sector limited liability partnership between the Local Government Association and Ordnance Survey. It's place was highly commended in the ‘Innovation and Best Practice in Local Public Services’ category. The entry focussed on the successful implementation of the National Address Gazetteer Database to support the compilation and output of AddressBase products from Ordnance Survey. The entry outlined the key objectives for GeoPlace of delivering fit for purpose services and establishing a synchronised data hub to support the delivery of definitive address data. GeoPlace also needed to provide systems and services to support the receipt and integration of address and street change intelligence from data providers.
