4th International Workshop on 3D Geo-Information, Call for Papers

The 4th International Workshop on 3D Geo-Information, will be held on November 4-5, 2009 in the city of Ghent, Belgium

The Workshop aims at bringing together international state-of-the-art research in the field of 3D geo-information. It offers an interdisciplinary forum to researchers in the closely related fields of:

  • Data collection and modelling: advanced approaches for 3D data collection, reconstruction and methods for representation;
  • Data management: topological, geometrical and network models for maintenance of 3D geo-information;
  • Data analysis and visualisation: frameworks for representing 3D spatial relationships, 3D spatial analysis and algorithms for navigation, interpolation, advanced virtual reality, etc.

Potential contributors are invited to submit full papers (up to 6000 words) or extended abstracts (1000-1500 words) describing original and unpublished fundamental scientific research. All submissions must be sent electronically via the online submission system: https://www.softconf.com/a/3DGeoInfo09/. Full-paper submissions will be thoroughly reviewed by at least three members of the international Program Committee. A selection of high-quality submissions will be accepted for presentation at the Workshop and published in the Springer Lecture Notes Series on Geoinformation and Cartography. Papers must be written in English according to the Springer formatting guidelines. Templates can be downloaded from http://cartogis.ugent.be/3dgeoinfo/index.php?page=call. Deadline for submission of full papers: May 20, 2009. Deadline for submission of extended abstracts (which will be published in the proceedings): June 22, 2009.

SATELLITE EVENTS

Two satellite events are held in conjunction with the 3D GeoInfo conference on November 3 and 6, 2009. They are a complementary forum to the main conference, facilitating a dialogue on emerging topics in small groups. Additional information can be found at http://cartogis.ugent.be/3dgeoinfo/index.php?page=pre&sub=workshop.
