Sokkia BV, European head office, announces the release of the new LX442 interior Laser. Featuring full-crossline projection, high-speed self-leveling, wireless operation and robust body, the LX442 significantly increases work efficiency in leveling, plumbing, squaring, alignment and layout applications.

 

Leica GeoMoS software, has now been upgraded to version 5.0 to deliver more productivity and accuracy when detecting, analyzing and visualizing structural movements. Leica GeoMoS 5.0 now supports the new Leica TM30 sensor especially designed for monitoring applications. Furthermore the new ‘Adjustment' add-on and the new ‘Slope Monitoring' feature guarantee a high accuracy and productivity. 

Announced at SPAR 2009, Leica Cyclone II TOPO 1.1 significantly increases office productivity for creating accurate topographic maps from laser scan data. In addition to benefiting from the software's easy-to-learn interface, standard CAD techs can now create maps from laser scan data as fast or faster than making maps from survey data collected conventionally.

SuperGeo Technologies will release the Beta version of its first enterprise application server software, SuperGIS Server, by the end of March. SuperGIS Server is a set of comprehensive and integrated Enterprise GIS software, and it performs GIS commercial logical manipulation under an environment based on information-technology-standard.

Topcon 's new GRS-1 is the world's first fully integrated dual-frequency, duel-constellation, network-enabled RTK rover system. It is an all-in-one handheld GNSS receiver and field controller with internal GSM Modem, high-speed processor, built-in camera, compass and bar code reader. 

Leica GeoMoS Web is a web-based service for visualization and analysis of monitoring via internet. Each authorized user, including customers and partners, can access the monitoring project anywhere and anytime - just using a web browser, PDA or mobile phone. Now Leica Geosystems offers an evaluation license version of GeoMoS Web to allow more monitoring users to test this successful tool.

Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has announced the availability of the latest version of the Cadcorp SIS - Spatial Information System family of desktop, web, mobile and developer software products, Cadcorp SIS 7.0. Among the new or enhanced features to be introduced in Cadcorp SIS 7.0 are the integration of Microsoft Virtual Earth connectivity; the facility to create ‘mash-ups' with both Google Maps and Virtual Earth; new data management facilities, including support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Spatial; new data loading and exporting plug-ins and several enhancements to the software's rendering, raster projection, text display, and PDF export facilities.

Some of the World's top specialists in digital archaeology descended on Truro College last week - among them Michael Ashley of the University of California, Berkeley and João Barbosa of the University of Minho in Portugal. Dr Caradoc Peters, head of Truro College's archaeology degree programme, and Adam P. Spring, English Heritage's 3D Heritage Officer, were the workshops' organisers.
