The IXth International Scientific and Technical Conference ‘From Imagery to Map: Digital Photogrammetric Technologies' is successfully completed. The distinguishing feature of the conference is that every year it is held in a new country. This year it was held on Attica, the Greek peninsula 30 km away from Athens.

On 1st April 2009, Wiltshire Council became a Unitary Authority taking responsibility for all aspects of parking. This change reinforced the urgency to complete an exercise in converting parking orders to a map based system, the communities in the former District of Salisbury being the remaining areas requiring these accurate map based orders.

Trimble introduced further enhancements to its complete surveying portfolio as part of its Connected Site solutions:

Maptek I-Site laser scanning expertise and software technology is being used to map the geology and layout of the deepest underground laboratory to be established in the USA.

Trimble introduced Trimble Access software for Spatial Imaging, a new addition to Trimble's Connected Site solutions. Trimble Access is a streamlined field and office solution for surveyors and geospatial professionals that expedites spatial imaging data collection, processing, analysis, and project information delivery. Trimble's solution enables these advancements through improved workflows, the ability to create in-field deliverables, and more efficient collaboration and connectivity between project team members.

Applanix introduced RapidOrtho 2.0, a significant software enhancement for the Digital Sensor System (DSS). DSS RapidOrtho is a complete airborne digital imaging system for first responders and geospatial professionals who need to deliver rapid, highly-accurate ortho-rectified imagery without time-consuming and expensive ground surveys. The system is used for aerial surveying, rapid response for emergency mapping operations, change detection and more; it has even been adopted as a productivity tool for commercial mapping projects.
