"We are delighted to receive the award for the purchase of the 100th HDS Scanner from Leica Geosystems. Sterling Surveys has always purchased survey equipment from Leica Geosystems due to their commitment to high quality and reliability. The excellent support both in hardware and software has continued to underpin our buying strategy and has made Leica Geosystems the ideal choice when selecting a High Definition Scanner", states Peter Wightman, Technical Director, Sterling Surveys.
Peter continues: "Initially we plan to use the scanner to complement our existing survey workload such as building elevations and topographical surveys of roads. Sterling Surveys also purchased the full Leica Cyclone software suite including Cyclone Register, Model, CloudWorx, Cyclone ll Topo and Publisher. Cyclone Register geo-referencing software automatically matches targets or modelled objects from different scanning positions to create a system of constraints, which is used to integrate the point cloud data into a single coordinate system. Cyclone Model and Survey offers a powerful graphics display engine for the visualisation and manipulation of point clouds and models. Cyclone Publisher offers the functionality for non technical personnel and clients to view and measure point cloud data online using the TruView Plugin for Internet Explorer.
