GPS Handbook Now Available

GeoInformatics has released ‘The GPS Handbook for professional GPS users”. This book is about everything a GPS-user needs to know about GPS and satellite navigation systems.

The book is written because of the growing group of daily GPS-users and a need for information on how to operate with GPS and satellite navigation systems. The author, Huibert-Jan Lekkerkerk is GeoInformatics Editor-in-Chief and has been a part-time instructor in geodesy and positioning in Skiltrade. He has authored a large number of course manuals on surveying, geodesy and positioning.

The book is divided into three parts. The first part is concerned with the general layout of the GPS system, its problems and foremost its practical use. Some background to the system is given, but solely in the light of explaining practical problems. Where necessary, references are made to other parts of the book.

In the second part of the book each chapter discusses a single topic and can be used as a background to the first part. The topics provide in-depth knowledge to specific aspects of GPS from a professional user’s point of view. The book consists of 180 pages, is in full-colour and can be ordered right away.
