Among the many new features and product improvements, this upgrade and maintenance release adds additional support for the Leica Geosystems ADS40 sensor with the new ADS40 toolkit, new 3D visualization options, and an improved ability to generate LiDAR images from LiDAR points.
Summit Evolution’s strengths as a 3D digitizing and visualization workstation have been enhanced with the new 3D Super/Imposition (3DSI) window. Elevations of structures measured with the Summit Evolution stereoplotter may now be viewed as extruded 3D features in all three of the “flavors” supported by DAT/EM Capture (AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS). Multiple 3D extrusions may be combined to digitize precise renditions of buildings and other structures, and thereby build a realistic 3D cityscape. Build a terrain dataset from the DTM and one can build true orthoimages; the result may be viewed from oblique, vertical, or subterranean angles in the 3DSI window.

A number of other enhancements based on incident reports and user requests were implemented at v4.3. Version 4.3 has been compiled specifically for Windows 2000 and XP.
Release 4.3 is compatible with the following CAD versions:
o AutoCAD: R14, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
o MicroStation: MicroStation V8 and 2004 Edition
o ArcGIS: ArcMap 9.1 and 9.2
