COMPASS09 - GEOMATICS CONFERENCE, DUBLIN, 25 JUNE
WITH INSPIRE MASTER CLASS, 26 JUNE
COMPASS09, to be held in Dublin on 25 June, is a key event in the Irish GIS calendar.
COMPASS09 includes many presentations that we hope will be of interest to you and all colleagues who work with geospatial data in a number of thematic areas - both those involved in GIS and data management and those end users outside the technical area.
Please visit the links below for full details, conference flyer and to register, and see the agenda outline below. This is a free event (pre-registration required) and is being held in the Alexander Hotel in Dublin city centre, readily accessible from Dublin airport and by public transport, including trains to Dublin and DART.
An applications strand includes presentations from environmental, planning, transportation, flooding, forestry, biodiversity, and other sectors. In addition there is a technology strand, and exhibits and clinics with Ordnance Survey of Ireland, the National Biodiversity Data Centre, Magellan GPS, Cadcorp, ERDAS, and Compass. We are running our exhibits as "clinics" to allow attendees to sit down and discuss in full any particular interests or requirements.
Also of potential interest are the EU INSPIRE Directive Master Classes we conduct - including one the day after COMPASS09 on 26 June - see the link below for details of this event. These Master Classes are also held across the UK, on request. The focus is on practical considerations in how to meet the requirements of the Directive, which was to be adopted as national law by all EU Member States on 15 May 2009.
