Blom launches Blom3D
Blom, a provider of geospatial services across Europe, has launched Blom3D. This is the largest catalogue of 3D city models in the world with more than 340 cities worldwide and covers more than 12,000 km2.
Blom3D models are created from an extensive collection of up-to-date, high resolution vertical and oblique imagery produced by Blom. Each model is created in four different levels of detail, from basic building blocks to photorealistic textured models, adding a powerful element of visual impact. Furthermore, every building included in the Blom3D archive is a unique entity, allowing the ability to edit and integrate databases and events to the data.
All of the Blom3D models are available in standard industry formats and can also be accessed online via Blom’s geoserver platform, BlomURBEX 3D.
The creation of quality 3D models has been a natural progression for Blom and the addition of Blom3D to their product suite adds yet another spatial dimension for their clients. The uses of this data are endless but are currently used in applications such as security, gaming, urban planning, emergency planning and visualisation.
